The bump in the road for Ryan Gosling. It seemed as though everything he touched turned to gold but here, despite his best efforts, we have a film that falls flat...and yes, it isn't his fault. Nor of a surprisingly good Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella.
They just don't have the script to make it memorable.
