Review of All Eyez on Me (2017) by Cracko K — 16 Jun 2017
For young people who didn't grow up with and live through the Tupac era before he died, this is a nice introduction, albeit watered-down and with a few inaccuracies. For everyone else there is nothing new or groundbreaking.
There are a few nostalgic moments, especially when a few tracks hit, but that's about as good as it gets. Hats off to Demetrius Shipp though, I don't think anyone will ever be able to capture the electricity, the heart, mind and passion of Tupac, but by the end of this movie Mr.
Shipp comes the closest I think we'll ever get. Also, Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne on The Walking Dead, played Afeni Shakur very well. as for the rest of the cast... meh. This wasn't a disappointment, but it wasn't what I hoped it would be or as well done as Straight Outta Compton.
