Review of All Eyez on Me (2017) by Angel E — 19 Jun 2017

Well I've had a good 24 hours now to fully take in the movie All Eyez on Me, and to digest everything that I saw last night with my nephew, and close friend. The theater was pretty packed a few seats empty in the front but overall pretty nice crowd. The movie has been getting some weird reviews which after watching it I'm left asking! What are these critics smoking?

This movie was epic!!!! I mean I actually cried a couple of times in this thing.. Now let me tell you I'm a big fan of Tupac. Been one since 91' and I've waited for this movie for over 2 decades. So I went in with expectations not expecting to be met, and I thought I would be let down by the overall movie.

Boy was I wrong! Demetrius Shipp Jr deserves an Oscar nomination for best actor! He was brilliant in not only bringing Tupac to life in this movie but in transforming himself into Tupac. It's scary how much he becomes Tupac in this.

His mannerisms, and stares are spot on! His speech pattern is spot on! The way he dances in concert is spot on! At one point I said they already recast Shock G for the Digital Underground tours why not take this guy out on tour so he could do Pac's part!

Overall every performance was excellent in the movie including Danai Gurira as Afeni Shakur who should be nominated for a best actress award. She was amazing as Afeni.

The one thing I love about this movie is how true to life it is in terms of it didn't gloss over all sides of who he was... I know Jada is mad over 2 scenes she never said that happened but this was close to 30 years ago! Maybe they did happen and she forgot? Who knows but those 2 scenes alone don't make a bad movie... I know enough about Tupac to know that the movie was very true to him... Shoutout to my homie Money B who also played himself in the movie, and was great in it.

Forget the negative talk give the movie a chance guys it's well worth it... This is my top movie of 2017 so far.
