Review of All Eyez on Me (2017) by Shay M — 20 Jun 2017
This is the BOTTOM LINE.
The actor who played Tupac was great. He captured Tupac's gestures and diction as best as anyone could. So kudos to him.
HOWEVER, he or no one will ever be able to capture the unique charisma that TUPAC SHAKUR had. And because of this, this movie was hard to sit through. The actor was great, but Tupac is a one of kind legend that no one will ever be able to duplicate.
Also, Kidada Jones was beautiful. Who the heck did they get to portray her? Meh. The casting agent who called her should never work in Hollywood again.
Also, when Kidada met Afeni, did Afeni really say "You can call me AFEENI?" Her name was aFAYnee. Not AFEENI. Who the hell got this wrong?
Suge was great. The Heathrow portrayal was great.
But overall, there was NOTHING in the movie that NO ONE knew about Tupac's life.
So with that-the writing was a fail.
The movie also looked like it was made on a micro budget. Tupac deserves a BIG BUDGET MOVIE. He was/is loved by everyone around the globe from Africa, to the U.S. to the middle east. And this is all he got?
