All Dogs Go to Heaven is another on of my favorite movies as a kid. It doesn't really stand up to close scrutiny, but it is a solid children's film. The biggest issue here is inconsistency. The songs are fairly awkward, the plot is sort of jumbled and it lacks the complexity of the best children's movies.
Even with these issues, the movie is pleasing to watch. I'm sure nostalgia is playing a big part in my enjoyment here, but the movie is still decent. I would certainly recommend some of Bluth's other movies before this one, but don't totally overlook All Dogs go to Heaven.
