Review of All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) by Lyzzi H — 18 Aug 2009
I know people were all up in arms because of this film's dealing with "darker" subject matter (religion, death, gambling) But really this is what a children's movie should be. the characters, (with the exception of Anne Marie) are adorable and believable,( including Carface.).
The animation is not particularly gorgeous, but this kind of quality should be the minimum.
The soundtrack is one of those that gets stuck in your head. The kind you keep singing, drunkenly after you leave the bar. (XD).
The story is emotional compelling, and timeless.
One of the first movies I'm buying for my kids. (my vhs is near destroyed from watching it so many times, and my dvd is scratched up....I was like 7 when it came out on dvd. Give me a break).
