Don Bluth films are always a bit obscure, and that's especially true for this one. the plot begins like something out of a typical gangster film--a man (or dog, in this case) breaks out of jail to return to the fast-paced easy-living world of running a New Orleans casino.
his partner has gotten used to operating solo, however, and orchestrates a scheme to have him killed. not dying according to plan, the man (dog) sets about plotting his revenge. and here the plot turns south as it turns into a kids movie--development comes to a standstill, the story ceases to make sense, and enter a little girl with one of the most annoying voices ever.
choppy and often trippy, I remember liking this movie for no particular reason whatsoever--and that's still kind of true.
