Review of All About Steve (2009) by Christopher E — 10 Sep 2010
I think you would be surprised by how many off-beat good acting performances there are in this movie. The pacing of the movie also keeps moving it never drags too much, but story never takes a specific tone.
The character of Mary attempt to explore balancing their needs to fit societal norms versus pursuing their own wants and needs. The development of Mary through the first two acts of the movie feels like a bunch of disconnected vignettes.
In the third act bullock really pulls it together but a little too late to save the movie. Cooper and Church take-up allot of screen time without advancing the story. Definitely worth a watch on cable.
