Review of Alive (1993) by Evelyn M — 25 Jun 2007
This movie made headlines with it's amazing crash scene and vivid portrayal of some forced cannibalism. This film manages to be a great exploration of the very real, human elements of facing death straight in the eye and being forced to fight your way to survival.
Whether you think you can stomach this movie or not, it still manages a very compassionate and real portrayal of men struggling to come to terms with their own situations and surroundings. In the end this becomes somewhat of a moral tale with some spiritual and sentimental undertones.
It's an exhilarating film.
