I agree, I hate movie critics too. Why cant they review movies in the context in which they are meant to be viewed. This is by no means on par with Alien, Aliens or Predator but they were different kinds of films, well the Alien ones at least.
The splatterfest has been turned up to 11 since the first AVP, mainly real old school special effects as opposed to CGI and it's all the better for it. Don't listen to the critics, if you want some mindless scary fun and nonsense look no further.
