Review of Aliens in the Attic (2009) by Amy H — 07 Feb 2010
For a kid's movie, it's actually not that terrible. So you got this family and their cousins on holiday in their new vacation home. Aliens choose the home their in to launch their big invasion.
Due to the type of circumstances that only happen in family films, only the kids can stop them. I was expecting this to be really bad, mostly because of what I had seen in trailers; the CGI looked pretty bad, and that is one of the weakest aspects of the movie, it's never any good.
But I actually felt myself mildly enjoying myself at parts. It's geared for kids. Kids who like video games. It's aimed more towards them then us, so you really can't hold that against the movie.
None of the acting is particularly good, but you rarely get that from this type of movie anyhow. One really nice thing about the movie is that there's nothing really offensive, no fart jokes or poop gags or anything.
It's never really GOOD at any point, but it's one of those movies where you can go, "hey, it's for kids".
