Review of Aliens (1986) by Jillian S — 20 May 2015
Making a continuation to a masterpiece is almost always an inevitable failure and can lead to the destruction of a franchise.
James Cameron not only enhances the quality of the story but also brings the sci-fi genre to new heights. The plot is riveting and every camera shot brings tension of what there is to come.
Sigourney Weaver's performance as Ellen Ripley is astonishing and she is able to control the heartbeat of every scene she is in. The characters that surround her are complex, intriguing, and highly engaging.
"Aliens" is like a chessboard with hidden pieces, it is as strong as it is fragile. Luckily, every move that is made is impeccable.
This is a movie with incredible craftsmanship that will be very hard to ignore and forget.
