Review of Aliens (1986) by Late R — 15 Aug 2017
Taking a completely different approach, the second film manages to improve on its already outstanding predecessor. Whilst Scott's masterpiece is a slow-building sci-fi/horror mashup that focuses on atmosphere and the building tension, Cameron has taken that as inspiration and dialled everything up a couple of hundred notches by adding a thrilling screenplay packed with full-on action and a whole host of incredibly memorable characters, including two of the most bad-arse female heroines ever to grace the silver screen.
'Aliens' is, quite simply, an instant classic with a tense and iconic finale that you won't ever forget.
