Review of Alien Trespass (2009) by Angela B — 04 Apr 2009
First off, I should say that I disagree with the consensus. It's not an "earnest attempt at parody" because it's not trying to be a parody at all. It's a sincere attempt at actually trying to be a movie from 1957, not a parody of one.
The acting style was different in the 1950s, and the actors in the film were trying to emulate that style, not poke fun at it. The special affects may look cheesy to some because they're supposed to look like they could have been done in the 50s.
In that sense I think the film was extremely successful. I enjoyed myself immensely.
