Review of Alien Resurrection (1997) by Jard M — 19 Apr 2011
Amazingly the Alien franchise went all the way into the 1990's with Alien Resurrection the last movie in the franchise (for now). After the ending of Alien 3, you wonder how they could make another sequel.
Well they did but it's not as related to the other movies. Sigourney Weaver returns once again somewhat playing a different character (you have to see Alien 3 to understand). Maybe I'm just being biased, but she makes this movie.
The movie may have struggled if Sigourney Weaver was not in this movie. Alien Resurrection also features other well known actors, like Winona Ryder and Ron Perlman. The supporting cast all do fine but Sigourney Weaver steals the show.
Filled with action and special effects, Alien Resurrection may seem a little forced, but it's still entertaining and for that you can forgive it.
