Review of Alien Resurrection (1997) by Henry T — 17 Oct 2012
It has a bit much too much "blood'n'guts" type action for my liking, as well as the dialogue which is quite bad, plus all the dozen or so aliens are in it and the film does not do its best to use them.
Alien 3 only had one alien and it was more intensive than this movie. Theres only one exciting scene and thats the one with the diving and water. Sigourney Weaver is a great actress, and the story has basically a very interesting idea about cloning Ellen Ripley, but the script didn't quite become the great space horror movie it was set out to be.
The film has well done alien creatures but some of the added special effects seemed like ..special effects added afterwards. There was enough action though. So, theres a too violent, a bit too rude space horror flic with cool acting and quite a lot of action, and basically an interesting plot, but was quite predictable and had outdated special effects except for the aliens.
What was the worst of the bad thing there was that even one alien would have been enough had it been used in a way that would have been scarier or more intensive and claustrophobic.
