Once again, this prequel-sequel (presequel?) uses viral-cum-god-complex allegory to reveal a scant mystery as hilariously ill-trained "experts" vie against a cosmic horror whose fate becomes more perfunctory the closer it gets to its inevitability, the antithesis of the original film's surprising nature.
Scott seems determined to remake A L I E N S.
