Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Patrick K — 20 Jun 2017
There was potentially a good film in here. Focus on David the mad scientist; creating monsters and going psychotic and you would've had a great film. Splicing Prometheus with Alien just hasn't worked. The final 15mins are so out of place. And the 'twist' was signposted near the beginning of the film.
Easily the dumbest people you could send in to space/choose to colonise and terrafom a planet. The characters are painful moronic and aren't even good as 'cannon fodder' for the enevitable deaths that have to happen!
Fassbender is amazing and basically holds this together as best as he can. A great looking movie that is pretty average at best.
