Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Peabuddie — 20 May 2017
Alien Covenant is sadly lacking in both aliens and a covenant. The film fails to provide any reason to care about any of the humans. There are too many of them and no attempt is made to develop thier character.
This film is about David, not aliens, not really and not the humans. There is no tension, no desperation, no drama. It's just about another crazy robot. It's basically a prequel or a part one of what they believe will be an ongoing development of the Alien universe in film.
This story might fly in a graphic novel or comic but not as a film. I paid way too much for far too little. I really feel that Alien Covenant is a bit arrogant and presumptuous. It basically says come pay for all our movies if you ever want to see a xenomorph again.
Also I think they need to look up the definition of "covenant" because I saw no such thing anywhere in this film. What a waste and total disappointment.
