Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Antony B — 22 Jan 2018
I don't get what Ridley Scott is trying to do with this film. Instead of making things clearer after Prometheus, everything feels more opaque. There are so many things that don't make sense or continue on in-line with the lore in previous films.
I feel Scott is succumbing to those people who just want to see aliens kill stuff. The cast are forgettable, and the film is trying to reboot the original, making Daniels almost indistinguishable from Ripley.
On the plus side, the visuals are mostly good (apart from terrible CGI in places) . But overall I have to ask - Scott...serious...wtf are you doing, this film's a mess.
