Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Pluutozz — 27 May 2017
Dark, surreal, thoughtprovoking and at points satirical journey. I thought it was scary as hell, not "jump scare" scary though. More like ideologically. Covenant is about creation and the origin of the monster.
Great music by Jed Kurzel. Not as beautifully shot as Prometheus but has a different tone. Ridley Scott never seizes to surprise and amaze me. Covenant is instantly my second favourite Alien movie of all time anway.
Very different for any other Alien film. May not be much for Cameron's "Aliens" crowd perhaps, a film which I never cared much for anyway. Covenant seems like a bit of an underrated film already.
Yeah almost forgot, Fassbender is phenomenal ofcourse. Don't focus on obvious flaws in the characters of the movie, you might miss the larger picture ;) Nope, not a movie for everyone, clearly. I for one loved it.
So there you go...
