Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Paul G — 20 May 2017
Alien: Covenant answers some of those questions about the origins of the Aliens but leaves a few new ones and on the whole leaves you a little deflated.
The special effects are good and the aliens in their multiple forms enter in impressively gory style but the story is very, VERY predictable.
I personally didnt have any interest in any of the characters, other than Fassbender's dual roles as Walter and David. The rest of the cast simply served as fodder for the aliens and the film's much recycled plot points.
In reality the film exists to give the first 5mins and last 2mins a vehicle, because thats all you need to see - the rest is just inconsequencial padding.
