Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Kimon M — 08 Dec 2017
Educated morons manage to screw everything up faster than the people in Prometheus. Pardon me if I find myself unable to suspend my disbelief for this travesty of a film. Gone are the days of Alien when Ridley Scott would build suspense and horror.
Now just hours after landing, everyone becomes infected. Also let's throw out the lore too. Gone are the days of face huggers and slower gestation times. This movie doesn't even stay true to the lore set forth by Prometheus, which it's supposed to be a direct sequel to.
No longer do you have to roofie a drink with alien goo. No, now the parasite is airborne and microscopic. Apparently Ridley didn't want to waste any time getting to the "action." Also, how terrible is the CG in this movie? Gone are the days of stunning practical effects as well.
To anyone even thinking about seeing this movie, do yourself a favor and just watch the original.
