Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Troy Scot B — 20 May 2017
I am a huge fan of the Alien movies and was not at all disappointed by Alien Covenant. It built well upon what Ridley Scott started with Prometheus, but felt much more like a true Alien film. There were several subtle tips of the hat, not the least of which being the use of the original theme music.
And to his credit, Scott resisted the urge to duplicate the creature hunt sequences from the original, though again, the verbiage brings the original immediately to mind. I thought the climactic confrontation to be a bit anti-climactic, but overall a great Alien experience.
Definitely worth the wait and now can't wait for the next one!
