Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Riley R — 27 May 2017
If Prometheus was grade school and Alien college, Alien: Covenant was the awkward, transitional middle school of the Alien franchise. Unsure of whether or not it wants to be a Prometheus or Alien movie, Covenant acts as an unsatisfying bridge between the open, contemplative exposition of Prometheus and the poigniant, subconcious mystery of Alien.
This is the movie which is most likely the massive growing pain the franchise needed to get back to its roots, and while we may look back on it years from now as an important part of the Alien lore's progression, as of right now it's a bipolar experience of ups and downs with a horrible "Next time on Dragonball-Z" ending.
