Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Vincent R — 03 Jun 2017
Cliched and predictable that lacked the nuance and intelligence of its predecessor Prometheus. Out of all ways to end the story of Dr. Shaw... this was THE worst. Also, how did they get the most emotional, illogical, and stupid people to staff a ship with a mission as important as terraforming.
Most of the deaths in the movie were definitely avoidable if you had half a brain. There was no one with the cunning and savvy instinct of Chelise Theron's character. Some of the scenes and deaths belong more to an old school slasher film that anything you'd expect from Ridley Scott.
