Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Jason P — 06 Aug 2017
I HATE movies that think they are more interesting because they leave the audience with questions. No. That's just bad story telling. I should have no questions. These movie was a hot mess of questions.
And not the thought-provoking kind either, just the ones where it seems like a massive oversight than no one caught or cared about. For instance, why could David create life in the little face grippers but not the big aliens? He needed a human host for the big ones.
But why? He created life in those flower pods things, just do that again and better. I loved Prometheus. I had high hopes for this one. The plot was good. I can get on board with a robot wanting to be god, but it just wasn't fully- or well-crafted.
It's a shame. Also, 1,000 people and 1,000 hours were spent on a 10 second clip of the Engineers. We obviously love them a lot and want to see more and you only give us a very expensive 10 seconds? Come on!
