Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by White F — 12 Jun 2017
Definitely FRESH. It's hard to beat Ridley's Scott's talent for tense interactions, nuance, and dialogue. While not all of my lingering Prometheus questions were answered, I was satisfied by the clever mind-bending horror elements and genuinely interesting two or three characters.
In this second installment of Alien prequels, Scott brings back the trademarked body horror of the franchise and the all-successful xenomorphs to grisly satisfaction. The balance of chase, plot, character development, suspense, and horror pulled off a film that was BOTH scary and interesting--quite a feat!
Eagerly anticipating the next one.
