Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Grant T — 05 Jul 2017
The first 50 minutes borrows everything (including music and sound effects) from the 1979 masterpiece, and then goes straight downhill from the mediocrity of having to copy & paste so blatantly. It devloves into a gore-fest, interspaced with the musing of an android, without any attention to the cannon.
When exactly did the xenomorph go from facehugger to full grown warrior in about 10 minutes? If this is what the Nostromo ran into, they would have all been dead in about 3 minutes. When did the androids self-heal? Will the next one have Khan Blood? Scott is the new Lucas, and I shudder to think of the damage he could do to Bladerunner.
