Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Jed C — 26 Aug 2017
Sure the cinematography and special effects were top notch, but when it comes to its direction, is poorly executed. I love Ridley Scott, I truly do, but let's be honest here, he's a hit and miss director and "Alien: Covenant" is an example of that.
The story wasn't engaging or interesting like the first five Alien movies because the characters were not well developed. Even the questions from "Prometheus" were not answered in this film.
It just brought more questions and confusions to an already confusing storyline. I rather they focused more on the Neomorph (the white alien) because it felt fresh and new. Should have saved the real, authentic alien for the next movie so that we can understand more of its evolution.
Plus there were plot holes, stupid character decisions, and other problems that make the film a very boring experience.
