Review of Alien (1979) by Gary H — 02 Jan 2014
A true genius story. Scott must have had serious restraint not to delve into some of the obvious action potential that are exposed in the famous sequel. Instead he sets a deliberate pace and lulls you into very slow expectations as he slowly terrifies you.
I waited 30 years to watch this film because it simply is not a subject I find interesting. While I found the squeal to be nothing more than an action flick with slap stick dialogue that had me rolling my eyes almost the entire film, it really never had a chance compared to this.
For me, I see no reason for even one sequel to this movie.
