Review of Alien (1979) by David R — 03 Aug 2014
Watching Alien is great, just to see computers that go 'whirr whirr bleep bloop', but it also provides well-paced thrills and lashings of suspense that most modern movies try and fail to emulate.
Sigourney Weaver and her character are really great in this, but the other characters are very irritating and surprisingly badly acted. Also, the bright flashing lights in some of the scenes at the end are so bright and strobe-like that they are just an annoyance.
But now we're knit-picking.
