Freaking love this movie. It's a slow-burn, but the more times I watch it, the more engaging it is for its build of atmosphere and dread. On top of it, the bodily invasion horror includes overtones of rape that are reminiscent of some of the truly brutal things insects do to each other for survival.
Definitely a universe in which it is better to be dead than alive.
