Mostly only worth watching so that when you watch the second one (which I STRONGLY recommend) you won't have to worry that you are missing out on any details or back-story. Alien 1 is okay, the sequel is AWESOME, and the third one is good but not great.
If you only watch one of them, make sure it is the second.
