Review of Alien (1979) by Dutch E — 12 Mar 2013
"Alien" is a landmark classic of cinema with its horror suspense and extraordinary visual design. Few movie classics can deliver the audience shivers through their spine; "Alien" is one of those movies.
The suspense is by far some of the best in cinematic history and the dark and claustrophobic atmosphere heightens the sense of terror. The atmosphere combined with the films beautiful sounds creates psychological trepidation in the audience.
Both the amazingly haunting and memorable postmodern soundtrack and excellent sound effects are all flawless. The script is mesmerizing and the cast are all well developed and very realistic. The design of the Nostromo and the alien are both imaginative and breathtaking.
"Alien" is truly an instant horror classic.
