Review of Alien (1979) by Chillindylan G — 27 Jul 2015
In space, no one can hear you scream! While Star Wars was my favorite movie-going experience of my lifetime, Alien was the most impressionable. I was probably not ready to see this movie when I did, and it admittedly gave me nightmares for a few months. However, it has become one of my favorite all-time films since. You can cut the suspense with a knife. Sigourney Weaver was made for the role of heroine. The Ash twist was great, the scares were real, and the ending kicked ass. The story is well thought out, and the acting is rock solid from start to finish. This is always in my top 4 favorite horror movies - and it vacillates between 3 and 4 (with my #10 entry which I will post tomorrow). Regardless, this is one of the best sci-fi or horror movies ever made.
Grade = 10/10.
