Review of Alien (1979) by Vulvurat — 23 Aug 2017
Alien is like a half-forgotten nightmare that suddenly outfolds in front of you from the cold depths of outer space. Nearly fourty years after it's release, I would still say that Alien is amongst the greatest horror and sci-fi movies of all time.
The script is extremely intelligent, Ridley Scott's breakthrough direction creates an atmosphere so thick you can nearly touch it, and the seven characters are so well developed and well acted that no moments of this film feels fake.
For me, Alien isn't just a horror film, it is a thrilling and tragic drama of ordinary people fighting against something truly inhumane that is out for blood.
