Review of Alien (1979) by Ethan P — 13 Dec 2015
Alien is a dark, amazingly tense piece of filmmaking. It has beautiful sets on the intricate spaceship and the outlandish planet they explore, it has solid characters and a simple plot, but the special thing about this movie is the tension.
It builds to terrifying, violent climaxes of action and the movie is a thrill-ride. Signourey Weaver is fantastic as the lone survivor of the ship, too. I can't even think of one thing wrong with this movie.
Even the grim idea that the company leaves the crew as expendable just to bring back the Alien.
