Alien is one movie that fits it's reputation. It's sets and visuals are so amazing except for the nuclear explosion in the end which looks senseless and cheesy. The story is tense and visceral and to my surprise, almost 90% of the twists that the other films of the series use are directly copied from this film, I mean the AVP series and Alien Resurrection. Ridley Scott has marvelously directed this thriller without losing it's impact and the movie can be really scary and give creeps at times.
