Review of Alice's Restaurant (1969) by Sara The Cat — 19 Jul 2008
This is one of those slice-of-life movies that you wouldn't mind watching for longer than the movie. This movie is based on Arlo Guthrie's song "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" in which he was arrested and convicted of littering after he and a friend illegally disposes of some garbage for his friends Alice and Ray.
This is based on a true story, and is fascinating to see how life was during a time I wasn't a part of. The real Alice Brock is seen on occasion, she's the OTHER long brown haired girl in this movie, often seen hanging at the church with the others.
