Review of Alice's House (2007) by Walter M — 27 Jan 2008
There's something special about seeing an Independent film that takes place in another country. In this case...you're taken to Sao Paulo, Brazil. It shows a bit of the "haves & have nots" and how a manicurist wife is coming to terms with her grown sons, her husband, her live-in mother and her own happiness.
The end is the only thing that irked me...it was a 4 star movie until the ending just dropped the ball...an epilogue would have been better. It's like they ran out of film. However, the acting was well done and a dysfunctional family shines thru.
..as it does in the USA and many other countries.
