Review of Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) by Leonard E — 28 May 2016
The critics have got this one all wrong. Imagine you were a fan of the original (there were a lot, with a $110M opening weekend in 2010). Take that movie, fix its problems with pacing, grow 6 years with your fans, and tell a story about time, family, and forgiveness - using the entire original cast and much-improved special effects.
Now who wouldn't want to see that? Apparently most of Hollywood. Here is a classic case of a great movie that is going to bomb at the box office and several people who would love it won't go due to the bad press.
We can't change that, but we can be glad the movie was made. If you only have money for one movie this weekend, see this one. Grade A.
