Review of Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) by Sam A — 31 May 2016
Not really understandable why is it hated so much. While the first one had a very cliched Prophecy story and Mia had barely any expression both facial and in voice, this movie has a story that, while it perhaps was told some time before, is still more interesting and intriguing to watch and Mia clearly has much more expression where you can see her react just the way she is suppose to in certain situations, as oppose to her acting in the first one where she looked as invested as Willy Wonka saving a bratty child.
I love how they had Alice to travel through time by using a device that can get bigger as oppose to a vechicle or a machine most people imagine time traveling to happen with. I also like how they interpretated Time as a some sort of person, kinda like how Death would also be represented.
Overall, the story is good, the actors are great and the visuals are beautiful. I'll admit, I was sceptical at first about this movie, but now I think it can rather easily outmatch its predecessor. Heck, it could rather easily outmatch Dark Shadows too.
