A wonderfully appealing rainbow of color and visual effects are laid over a garbage plot that was so mind-numbingly tedious, needlessly convoluted, and completely unrelated to the film's namesake or original characters, it had me writhing in my seat to leave the theater.

It seems to me that someone came up with an uninteresting and half-baked story for a kid's action film, and decided to shove it into the "Alice" character & setting template at the last second.
