Review of Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) by Liam C — 27 Aug 2016
It was a good sequel, but not a great one. Still, I would have given it five stars, but SPOILER WARNING: the Queen of Hearts never gets her comeuppance, because apparently if your sister blamed you for stealing sweeties as a kid, that justifies kidnapping and mass murder.
That alone is worth losing at least half a star. And Cohen's character was never in any Lewis Carroll novel. But Alan Rickman was in the beginning, and he was a great actor, and this was his last movie.
So even though Alice spends most of the movie screwing with the timeline, and the real grand rescue adventure wasn't 'till towards the end, it had a lot of great moments and is worth seeing for any fans of the original.
