Review of Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) by Movie M — 22 Oct 2016
Once again, Johnny Depp saves this movie. "Alice Through The Looking Glass" is the sequel to "Alice In Wonderland", and although it is visually impressive, it doesn't have much going for it.
The only character I was interested in was The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), and that's what ended up being one of the main plot lines. The reason the first movie was better was because the plot was already made up, it was just a remake of a classic tale that everyone loves.
Although there is a plot for the sequel, not very many people know it, and it just ended up being boring. There was one other bright spot in this movie besides Johnny Depp, however, Sacha Baren Cohen (Time) took on more of a serious role, something he's not used to, and did a very convincing job.
He did have his fair share of jokes, but the majority of his lines were serious, so it's good to see him expand a little but. As a whole "Alice Through The Looking Glass" leaves with very little going for it, and the few good acting jobs it gets are what keeps it from being a total wreck, and is definitely not worth watching.
