Review of Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) by Greg B — 06 Jun 2016
"Alice through the looking glass" is the sequel to the Tim Burton adaptation of the Lewis Carroll Novel of the same name. In the film, upon Alice's second venture into wonderland, she discovers that the Mad Hatter has fallen upon rough times.
He has turned into a recluse and cites the fact that his family is missing and he is not whole without them. Alice believes his family died sometime in the past and seeks the help of Time to try to go back in time and save them.
Of course, unforeseen circumstances happen, leading to chaos. I thought this film had a good sense of fantasy and surrealism. We really get immersed in this fictional world, and Burton does an effective job creating escapist fiction that brings out the unique nuances of the characters.
I also enjoyed the cinematography in this film and thought it was a nice fantasy story ------------------------------------------------------------------- B.
