Review of Alice in the Cities (1974) by Miles W — 23 Feb 2008
A beautiful and brilliant film which, if you have any interest at all in film, photography, storytelling... aw hell, life itself, you must seek out and put it in your shelf next to the best French New Wave films.
Utterly charming, funny and poignant, this is the best film I've seen in a long time and really what films are all about; stunning cinematography, fascinating shots and two misfit characters who, though enigmatic, are all too familiar and sympathetic.
Wenders at his most powerful.
