Review of Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) by Kevin D — 30 Apr 2008
Burstyn is good, and has a well realized rapport with the actor playing her son. The scene where her reconciliation with Kristofferson is applauded by obnoxious diner patrons is the stuff of cruel parody, which to me seemed a little out of the blue.
It's really all a little middlebrow in my opinion, but Keitel's short role is really electrifying, a brief stab of greatness.
