In a word; boring.
I'm sure Scorsese had a point or a story in mind when he made this, but it just sorta goes on and on from one day of Alice's life to another, and its never really clear what the point of the story is supposed to be until the very end, and even then the movie lacks a climax in any way shape or form.
Unless you're having to watch for a film class or something, it's just not worth the time to see.
